Service Fees
The fee for midwifery care with a midwife from Texas Midwives Group is usually less than the out-of-pocket costs associated with a hospital birth. The fee for midwifery care includes care during prenatal, birth, and postpartum periods. Lab fees, professional birth kit, birth tub and childbirth education classes are not included. Lab fees are usually covered by health insurance. Cash price for labs is around $75. Many birth tubs are available to rent in the local area and range from $200-$300. Some women birth in garden tubs while others purchase an inflatable swimming pool for the birth.
Understanding the majority of support from the midwife occurs during labor, delivery and postpartum care, discounts, if any, will be discussed on a case by case basis for transferring care from another provider late in pregnancy.
Client agrees to deposit a non-refundable retainer of $500. Deposit is applied towards the balance. Unless other financial arrangements have been made, midwifery fees are due by the 36th week of pregnancy.
